This video pretty much sums it up in regard to "Spec" work. In the past I have done work before being paid and luckily I never had a problem. On the flip side I need to tighten up and be more responsible with commissions and get them done in a timely manner.

Hi everyone,

I've been getting alot of commission requests lately which is awesome! I'm available for anything from comic pin-ups, recreations, sci-fi characters, portraits, cartoon style and I've even done a few logos. I o'nly work in traditional medium as of now (pencil, pen, marker, colored pencil, pastel, paint) and I work in all sorts of sizes (5"x7"-16"x20"+). I usually ask for info about a commission before I set a price, however, I believe my prices are fair considering I'm still a novice. I know asking someone their rates can be intimidating but I'm pretty easy to communicate with and I'm a pretty laid back guy. I've been having a problem the last few days with uploading new deviations. Once I finally click "Submit" the artwork never uploads and continues to process. Does anyone else have that problem or know of a solution?
